FAKE APPLE STORES!!!

Looking at the News and not trying to write about biggest story out there, which are the Norway events. I came across a story a story in China where some story come the apple story. These stores would call them self the apple story, set the store up the same way the apple store would set its store up, and even sell apple products.

In the BBC News where I found this article talks about how there is a fake Apple store in Kunming city. It also talk about how most of the customers didn’t have a problem buying there apple products here because the store isn’t selling fake apple products. The article also talked about how the people who work at these stores really thought they were working at the Apple store and that it wasn’t a knock off store.

The NY Times also had an Article talking it the same matter. It talked about some of the flaws the fake apple stores have. The fake apple stores would have the name the apple store along with the apple. It also talks about how some people went to apple the real store and return their products. Apple force two out of five of the fake store to close down. Those two store didn't have the right license to sell products.
The other three store are still open as we speak. Apple is trying to take the stores to court.

I think there is nothing wrong with having a look a like selling apples products. The reason why is because there is no apple store in the area, what are the people in the area going to do if they want to buy an apple product. People are still buying apple products, and it's not like apple isn't making money. The products the people are buying are not knockoffs. I feel they are expanding apple more to areas that are not as big. I would understand if a real apple store was in the area and people rather go to the fake store because it is cheaper and it is killing the real apple store business, but that's not the case.

LET THE KNOCKOFF STAY OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. It seems that you don't understand what copyright infringement is or patent & trademark infringements. I suggest you look these up.

Is it an apple knockoff store or not?? You say it is an imitation Apple store, but the products are not knockoffs? Please clarify this because these stores did not have proper licensing from China to even have a store. It is also unclear as to where they got these "Apple products" from. All of this I just got from the BBc article I assume you are talking about in your post.

If you were to invent a product, let's say a new type of cellphone, and groups were able to distribute your product at will, how would you feel? Nevermind the fact that "it's not like apple isn't making money", it is illegal.

  2. I agree with the comment above that these fake Apple stores can't stay open because they've illegally used Apple's trademarks and patents. I looked up the article myself and the stores are essentially look-likes that sell real apple products obtained from an unknown source. This problem is nothing new in China. As with the 4th media truth, nothing is new and issues from before repeat themselves Piracy and fake products are rampant in China. I think this story got some attention from sources like New York Times and BBC and not others because it concerns a giant company almost everyone knows or would like to hear news about. Hanson's book even mentions how CD's hardly sell there because of how many duplicates are sold and out of control piracy on page 260. Another example I can give of these knock-off style things in China is bootleg video game consoles like the Chintendo Vii which just rips off the Wii.

  3. I as well, dont think these illegitimate stores have the right to remain opened for business. Its one thing if this store is selling bootleg apple products, but this isn't the case. As both, a courtesy and a law policy, these stores have NO right to remain in business, and i cant believe they have even gotten this far in sales.
