Who am I? What is my relationship with media?

Who am I? I am a typical New Yorker that only has six hours of sleep during the week and wakes up at noon during the weekend. I am also someone who thinks people that say hi to you on the streets are weird. I am Chinese and I cannot read or write it therefore, I am learning to read and write it now, in Hunter. I had just read a post where someone said she is a drama fanatic and I would like to say you are not alone I love Asian dramas. And right now I am really into a new historical drama that just came out. Thank goodness for all the different video streaming sites, because this drama just came out a few days ago yet, I get to watch new episodes the second it airs on tv in China. I love the new technology! My computer is my TV. It's been years since I watched anything on TV. That is a bad thing because when people talk about certain commercials, I have no idea what they are talking about anymore and I miss out on movie trailers. However, missing out on movie trailers is not too bad because I cannot escape it, everywhere I go there are posters of the new movies. In a sense that is better for me because trailers basically reveal the whole movie. That is why I am going to go and watch Horrible Bosses . I know nothing about the movie besides the fact that Jennifer Aniston is in it and the bosses treat there subordinates with a great deal of disrespect, this was all based on the title.

I have a deep relationship with media. This is because nowadays people are bombarded with media. Everywhere you go there is media especially in New York City. Media is even in the clothes you wear. Even if you do not wear clothes you will still be exposed to the media because then people will be saying, "Hey look that person is not wearing any clothes." From that point on you will be part of the media because you will come up in conversations. Anyway, my relationship with the media is so intense that I am doing my homework on my iPod. I am typing up this blog post on my iPod. The annoying thing is that I have to use HTML because the other option did not work on my iPod. The media, technology wise has been a part of my life for a very long time. Blogging on here reminds me of the old days when a bunch of people were learning HTML to make there Xanga look better. That was also the time I started to learn basic HTML. I am glad it came in handy, academically, because that was unexpected.

Media is an important aspect of ones life. I have a relationship with media in many ways. One way is that I subscribe to magazines such as Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Time, and Harpers Bazaar. Often times I would go online and get the 411 on celebrities. However, there are many times where I am not even trying to look for news on celebrities but, it comes up anyways. A good example would be whenever I sign out of my Yahoo! mail account, there would always be news on the page Yahoo directs you to when you sign out. As the book mentioned, Micheal Jackson's death was announced minutes after the ambulance came. I had logged out of my Yahoo account and bam the news about Micheal Jackson was up there and of course I had to read it because like many others, I did not believe that he had passed away. Anyway, the point is that media will always be there. There is no such thing as no relation to media or "living under a rock" because media will always be around you.
