I am a person, immersed in a society of other persons who everyday structure their lives around the necessity to generate income in some form or another. In doing so, my life currently pertains to obtaining a degree in a field of personal interest so that hopefully in the near future I will be able to work everyday at a job that pays me well, does not require unnecessary amounts of stress and also upholds my interest over a lengthened period of time.

With all of these aspects laid aside, the rest of who I am has to do with the environment in which I was raised, the individuals who have raised me, and the strange and/or normal coincidences and occurrences and turning points that have come about as a result of the general order of things, places and time. Being someone who was born in America in the mid-1980’s, naturally my evolving personal life contains many references and relationships unavoidably intertwined with decisions made by politicians, songs written by pop stars, acts of violence committed by strangers, and the creative inventions of others.

This inescapable permeation of American culture is so perpetuated in my environment and surroundings that as one who lives in a city that never sleeps, the television is thus never turned off, the telephone is constantly ringing and the newspaper story about today was written yesterday. With all of these constantly flowing forms of staying up to date on communication and information pressing and pressuring forward, my relationship to media, at this point, seems to be evolving into some form of relationship with my self.
