Who am I? What is my relationship to media?

My name is Asaf, I've been working as a web-developer for many years and decided about a year ago to go back to school full time, acquire new skills and knowledge, and perhaps look into a different career. I've decided to go with a studio-art major as I'm interested in exploring the visual arts.

Being a web-developer I've been highly involved in the internet form of media in programming and designing web-pages and web-applications which interact with large scale databases, such as web-applications and online tools for travel agencies and large travel data centers, and with regard to my recent job, I dealt with web applications which enable users to create online-surveys, publish them through email messages using distribution lists, and provide online reporting tools to survey administrators for analyzing survey data.

I can relate greatly to the fact that media is an essential component of our lives, as it is so integrated within our daily routine, needs and tasks. The media that I use mostly is the internet, primarily for searching information online using google, chatting with friends, emails, listening to music, and performing almost any possible task that is now manageable online, anything from online banking and paying bills, to purchasing and ordering stuff online, to using CUNY portal, and much more. My least favorite media is TV, mostly due to the irritating repetitive advertisements, in fact, for I while I've been disconnected from cables and didn't miss it at all. However, I cannot see myself being without internet for too long, which demonstrates how dominant the internet is.
